Known to her very close friends as Lea, Eleanor XXXIII is finding herself in a more interesting moment of history than her immediate predecessors. She is confronting political challenges: the Rise of Russia, Norway and the Baltic Sea Alliance; the invasion of the Mayan Kingdom and the genocide of its people; a mysterious new leader emerging in the Kingdom of Papua; possible reconciliation with Cascadia.
But those are not the only challenges of her time. Probably the greatest challenge is the degradation of the environment at the hands of humans in what many are calling the Anthropocene. The biggest defining aspects of this era are: anthropogenic climate change, mass extinction, the elimination of entire ecosystems, and the Plastics Crisis.
It’s this last one that is going to become a big project for her and will animate much of her efforts in the environmental realm.
